What is Tajweed and why does it matter?
Tajweed means giving every letter its right: its correct point of articulation (makhraj) and its qualities (sifat). It protects the meaning of the Quran and makes recitation beautiful.
Tajweed is learned by listening and correction, not by reading rules alone. That is why a live teacher matters.
What you will learn in our online Tajweed course
Lessons combine short explanations with lots of recitation practice. The teacher corrects you in real time, letter by letter.
- Makharij: where each Arabic letter comes from
- Sifat: the qualities of letters
- Rules of noon sakinah, tanween and meem sakinah
- Madd (elongation) and its types
- Stopping and starting correctly (waqf and ibtida)
- Applying the rules while reading real surahs
Tajweed for kids and for adults
Children learn Tajweed naturally through practice while they read, with simple names for each rule. Adults can study the rules more deeply and focus on specific weaknesses.
Sisters study with female teachers and brothers with male teachers.
