Students often ask which Ijazah they should aim for. Both are honourable; the difference is simply whether you recite to the teacher from the Mushaf or from memory.
Ijazah in recitation (Tilawah)
You read the whole Quran from the Mushaf with correct Tajweed. It suits adults and anyone who wants accurate recitation and the ability to teach reading, without first memorizing all 30 parts.
اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شَفِيعًا لِأَصْحَابِهِ
“Read the Quran, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions.”
Ijazah in memorization (Hifz)
You recite the whole Quran from memory. It requires completing Hifz first — see our online Quran memorization program — followed by strong revision.

Which one should you choose?
If you have not memorized the Quran, start with recitation; you can add the Hifz Ijazah later. Your teacher will advise you during the free trial class.
- Recitation: faster, ideal for busy adults
- Memorization: longer, ideal for Huffaz
- Both are taught live, one-to-one
