The Prophet ﷺ added: "I do not say Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter; rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter." Few acts are so easy and so richly rewarded.
What the hadith teaches
Reward is counted letter by letter, so even a short page carries thousands of good deeds. No reading is ever "too little" to matter.
مَنْ قَرَأَ حَرْفًا مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَلَهُ بِهِ حَسَنَةٌ، وَالْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا
“Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah receives a good deed, and each good deed is multiplied by ten.”
Two rewards for the struggling reader
The Prophet ﷺ said the skilled reciter is with the noble angels, and the one who stumbles while finding it difficult gets a double reward (Bukhari 4937, Muslim 798). Beginners should never feel shy.
